‘Rosita’ almost stationary, to exit PAR Wednesday

MANILA — Severe tropical storm “Rosita” (international name “Yutu”) slightly weakened while remaining almost stationary over the West Philippine Sea Wednesday.

In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geographic and Astronomical Services Administration said “Rosita” is now 205 kilometers west northwest of Dagupan City, Pangasinan.

It is packing winds up to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph.

PAGASA said Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and Central Luzon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the trough of “Rosita”.

All tropical cyclone warning signals have been lifted as “Rosita” is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Wednesday afternoon or evening.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have cloudy skies to at times cloudy with rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorm.

Flash floods or landslides are still possible due to severe thunderstorms.

Northern Luzon and the western section of Central and Southern Luzon will have strong to very strong winds from southwest to southeast with rough to very rough coastal waters.

Residents are advised not to take risky travel using small sea craft or small boats in all seaboards.
