San Juan City LGU supports IATF Reso No. 104

San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora supports Resolution Number 104 of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) putting Metro Manila and four neighboring provinces under General Community Quarantine (GCQ).

According to Mayor Zamora, this is a major undertaking by the national government to curb the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country.

San Juan has implemented various measures to combat the spike of infection by the virus. These include enforcing curfews, liquor ban, and limiting operational capacity in all establishments in the city.

The city is also continuing its targeted mass swab testing, contact tracing, and increasing quarantine facilities to accommodate those who test positive for the disease.

“These efforts were put into place in San Juan City because I wanted to make sure that we minimize, if not arrest, the surge of infections in the city. We have not been complacent in dealing with the pandemic since then and we will exert more effort to finally win this battle against COVID-19,” Mayor Zamora assured.

The distribution of the 16th wave of food packs for San Juan residents will begin in the next few days. The implementation of its new normal ordinance, which began last year, will also continue.

As of this time, 35, 577 or equivalent to 41.66 percent of the target population of 85, 400 or 70 percent have registered for the city’s vaccination campaign. The local government targets to vaccinate 70 percent of their population to achieve herd immunity.

“I am calling on everyone who has not registered yet to the San Juan COVID-19 Vaccination Program to do so immediately and take the opportunity to get vaccinated for free.” – Ryan Lesigues
