Sarangani, Davao Occidental shaken by 6.1 magnitude earthquake

A 6.1 magnitude earthquake shook Sarangani Island, Davao Occidental on Sunday (Dec. 5) morning.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the earthquake happened at around 7:48 a.m. Sunday.

It had a depth of 156 kilometers and was tectonic in origin.

No injuries were reported, but Phivolcs said to expect aftershocks. -Report from Mark Fetalco/PG – bny
