SC declares half-day work in all courts Wednesday

MANILA — The Supreme Court (SC) declared half-day work in all courts nationwide on Wednesday.

Acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio made the announcement Tuesday to allow court personnel to fully observe the All Saints’ and All Souls’ holidays.

“In order to allow court personnel to more fully observe All Saints’ Day, all courts nationwide will be on half-day tomorrow, October 31, 2018,” the SC-Public Information Office announced in a Twitter post.

The announcement also covers the Court of Appeals, Court of Tax Appeals and the Sandiganbayan.

Under the Constitution, the SC has the exclusive power to promulgate rules concerning the protection and enforcement of constitutional rights, pleading, practice, and procedure in all courts, the admission to the practice of law, the integrated bar, and legal assistance to the underprivileged. (Benjamin Pulta/PNA)
