MANILA — Most parts of the archipelago will experience scattered rain showers on Friday, the weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said a low pressure area (LPA) is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), affecting Visayas and Mindanao.
The LPA was last spotted 860 km. east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, it added.
In its forecast, PAGASA said Luzon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by southwesterly surface windflow.
The same weather condition will prevail over eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao Region due to the LPA and ITCZ.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
Flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas will prevail over the whole country, PAGASA said.
