Scattered rains to prevail over PH

MANILA — Scattered rains will prevail over the country from Thursday afternoon to Friday morning, according to an advisory from the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its latest weather bulletin, PAGASA said the Cagayan Valley Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the Ilocos provinces will have cloudy skies with scattered rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Metro Manila and the other parts of Luzon will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains caused by the northeast monsoon.

Visayas and Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by local thunderstorms. The weather bureau cautioned of possible flash floods or landslides due to light to moderate with occasional heavy rains in these areas.

As of 3 p.m., a low-pressure area (LPA) was estimated 470 kilometers east northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

Northern Luzon will also have strong to gale winds, causing coastal waters to be rough to very rough.

The other parts of Luzon, meanwhile, will experience moderate to strong winds. It will affect coastal waters to be moderate to rough.
