Scattered rains over W. Visayas, parts of Luzon

MANILA — The southwest monsoon affecting the western section of Luzon and Visayas, and a trough of a low-pressure area (LPA), will bring scattered rains over western Visayas and parts of Luzon, the weather bureau said Saturday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is monitoring an LPA, which was last eyed at 100 km. east southeast of Casiguran, Aurora.

Mimaropa, Bicol and western Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy, to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by “localized thunderstorms”.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds will prevail over southern Luzon and Visayas. Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
