ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center-9 (ATI-RTC-9) has tied up with the Office of the City Veterinarian (OCVet) for the conduct of 12-Saturday School on the Air (SOA) on goat production here.
Eduard Sala, Agriculturist II, representing ATI-RTC-9 Officer-in-Charge (OIC), Director Reynaldo Beduya, and Dr. Mario Arriola, OCVet chief, launched on Saturday the SOA on Goat Production.
Arriola on Tuesday said that the SOA will have 12 classes from Dec. 1, 2018 to Feb. 9, 2019 over DXRZ-AM from 6 to 6:30 a.m. every Saturday.
The SOA program will be anchored by Paz Billedo, Fedibert Alejandro, and Joselito Patiño, agricultural technologists, meat inspector and livestock inspector of the OCVet, respectively.
Arriola said his office is accepting enrollees to the SOA targeting 500 farmers, 4H and Rural Improvement Clubs (RIC), livestock raisers, entrepreneurs, enthusiast and other interested persons.
He said enrollment forms are available at the OCVet in Barangay San Roque or at its Field Offices located in Ayala Sport Center, Culianan, Curuan and Vitali Rural Service Centers and Manicahan Barangays Hall.
He said the participants are expected to have gained knowledge on sustainable goat production and organic farming at the end of the course.
“This (course) will eventually help the farmers achieve and sustain productivity and profitability,” he said.
He added that the Top 10 course achievers will be recognized.
