School principal shot dead in North Cotabato

MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato – A public school principal was shot dead Wednesday in the remote barangay of Kadigasan here, the police said.

Supt. Joan Maganto, Midsayap town police chief, identified the victim as Anok Satol Dagadat, 53, principal of the Kadigasan Elementary School in the village.

Dagadat was resting in his office after taking lunch when an assailant barged inside and shot him. He died on the spot.

“The gunman casually walked away towards a waiting motorbike driven by an accomplice just outside the school,” Maganto said.

Police are looking at several angles,  including personal grudge, as primary motive in the incident.

Maganto said they have already questioned several “persons of interest” to shed light into the case. ( Edwin Fernandez/PNA)
