Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III has apologized for his request to obtain Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines in exchange for the deployment of Filipino nurses.

According to the DOLE Chief, his only intention was to ensure that the nurses to be deployed to the United Kingdom are vaccinated before leaving the country. He also understands the sentiments of several groups.
