Secretary Andanar also appealed to the public to patiently wait for the assistance of the government during the COVID-19 crisis, as they are exhausting all efforts to provide relief.
Let us do our part, let us be patient [We are appealing (to the public) to remain patient because this is also for your welfare. Trust the process. Let us do our part, let us be patient],” he said.

1.3 million beneficiaries receive second tranche of SAP

As of the morning of June 23, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has reported that there are already more than 1.3 million family beneficiaries who received cash aid from the second tranche distribution of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP), amounting to over P6 billion.

These include the families listed under the agency’s 4Ps and waitlisted beneficiaries submitted by LGUs from Region I, CAR, and Region III, who have completed their reports from the first tranche of SAP distribution.

Meanwhile, the DSWD is still continuously validating the submitted reports of the local government units to make sure that there will be no duplication of assistance on the second tranche.

According to DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista during the program, there are over 51,000 cases of duplication based on their post-validation.

Based on the post-validation by our field offices, there are 51,563 recipients found to have received assistance from other agencies)” he said.

We are emphasizing the importance of validation to obtain the clean list of families that will benefit the second tranche],” Secretary Bautista noted.
