Security forces ready for possible attack of NPA


The security forces are prepared for the possible attack of the members of the New People’s Army (NPA).

In a tweet by Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Information Officer Marco Valbuena, he stated that CPP Chairperson Jose Maria Sison has a standing order to the NPA to form a partisan team called Special Partisan Units to retaliate against the alleged crime committed by the authorities against the people.

This statement has prompted the Philippine National Police (PNP) to closely monitor the rebels.

PNP Chief Police General Debold Sinas stated that he met with the legal service of the police force to look into the possible violation of Sison in his declaration against the authorities. He also told his men to take precaution and prepare for any possible NPA activity.

The Department of National Defense (DND) challenged Sison on his threats against the government.

DND Secretary Delfin Lorenzana warned that the government is more prepared to fight violence in the country with the strengthened capability of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). Sec. Lorenzana also disclosed that many members of the NPA have returned to the folds of the law.

Based on the report of the PNP, 3,155 members of the local terrorist group have surrendered, 155 have been killed in operations, and 433 have been arrested. – Report from Bea Bernardo
