Security tightened for ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting in Clark

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga –Tight security measures are being implemented in Central Luzon with the arrival of foreign delegates for the 11th ASEAN Defense Ministers’s Meeting (ADMM) and 4th ADMM-Plus in Clark, this province on October 22-25.

Chief Supt. Amador V. Corpus, Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) Regional Director and Task Group Clark commander, said police personnel are deployed in full force within the venues and areas where the delegates will be billeted to ensure their safety and security for the duration of the meeting.

“Maximum police presence is also being carried out along major thoroughfares and routes where the delegates are expected to pass through as they travel to Clark,” Corpus said.

He said that continuous simulation exercises are being undertaken to ensure the safe and smooth flow of the event.

“As this grand event will take place on October 22-25, we continuously appeal to the public to cooperate with us for the stringent security measures we are implementing,” he said.

Corpus likewise asked the motorists to give way to security convoys especially when the delegates pass through so as not to cause any disruption. (Zorayda Tecson/PNA)
