Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa hinted Lt. Col. Jovie Espenido is only being singled out in the face of his inclusion in the latest narcolist.
“Nandyan sa listahan eh. So, I believe, pero sabihin mo ang aking personal take? Malinis siya,” Dela Rosa said.
According to the former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief who assigned Espenido, he has witnessed the good intention and integrity of Espenido who initiated big anti-illegal drugs operations like the Paronijog raid in Ozamiz.
Dela Rosa said he has been expecting Espenido to be involved in a controversy due to the irregularities in illegal drugs transactions, the intelligence entailed in information gathering and the conflict among drug lords.
He added that the list is raw and Espenido can still be cleared from it.
Dela Rosa also told that policemen engaged in illegal drugs war to not feel discouraged.
“Sa mga pulis na engaged sa anti drug war, ‘wag kayo mahinaaan ng loob. Baka sabihin niyo si Espenido nga na may pangalan eh ngayon sisnira siya ngayon dahil nilagay sa listaahan. Alam niyo ganon karumi ang labanan sa droga, laban lang” Dela Rosa said. – Report from Eunice Samonte
