Senate: Approval of 2020 General Appropriations Bill not to be rushed

The Senate assures that it will not rush the approval of the 2020 General Appropriations Bill, and will thoroughly examine the PhP 100 million allocation for each congressman. Senate President Vicente Sotto III points out that no pork barrel fund will be allowed under the watchful eyes of Senators Sonny Angara and Ping Lacson. According to Sotto, the proper use of funds must be guaranteed in order to assure that none of the citizens’ tax money will be wasted. Funds meant for vaccination and information campaign against polio will also be reviewed. Sotto expressed the need for the Department of Health to have an ample budget for the information drive which can be reallocated to the immunization program.
