Senate bets Diokno, Baguilat thank supporters

Senate bets Atty. Chel Diokno and Teddy Baguilat Jr. addressed their supporters on Tuesday, May 10, thanking them for their support and efforts during the campaign period.

In a statement, Diokno said he will continue monitoring until all votes have been counted and all election-related irregularities “have been explained.”

As per unofficial and partial result, Diokno is currently at the 19th position.

Despite the discouraging result, Diokno urged his supporters and volunteers to “never lose hope and love for the country and the Filipino people.”

Addressing the youth and first time voters, former Ifugao Rep. Baguilat urged them to “never give up on what we stood for” and to “remember the shining moments and what our crusade symbolized.”

“To the youth, the energy of our campaign, our first time voters – the campaign is your EDSA, the moment in your lives when you rose and fought for your country. That alone makes me optimistic for our country. We will rebuild with you as our foundation,” Baguilat said.

“The counting is not over. The fight goes on. Even if the ultimate result this year will not be to our liking, there are other years to come. Leni and Kiko’s leadership and the spirit of volunteerism we started will fuel us in the coming years.” – ag
