Service contracting program benefits 159-M riders

A total of 159,721,516 commuters benefited from the third phase of the service contracting program from April 11 to Aug. 2 this year, according to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

The program was launched to assist drivers and operators affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and soaring oil prices, as well as to lessen the expenses of the commuting public, particularly healthcare workers and sectors relying on public transportation.

The Department of Transportation and the LTFRB thanked public transportation drivers, conductors, operators, and commuters who took part in the success of the program.

“Lubos ang pasasalamat ng DOTr at LTFRB sa bawat konduktor, drayber at operator na bahagi ng programang ito. At sa 159,721,516 mananakay na naserbisyuhan ng programa, karangalan po namin ang mapaglingkuran kayo. Maraming salamat po at saludo kami sa inyo,” the LTFRB said in a post.  -ag
