MANILA – The shear line will bring overcast weather over the Visayas and the northeastern portion of Mindanao on Saturday (Jan. 1), while the northeast monsoon affects Luzon.

In its daily weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said there will be cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in the Visayas and Mindanao caused by the shear line.

There will be cloudy skies with light rains over the Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon due to the northeast monsoon.

In Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, there will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains brought by the northeast monsoon.

There will be moderate to strong winds headed northeast in Luzon, Visayas, the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao, bringing moderate to rough coastal waters.

In the rest of Mindanao, there will be light to moderate winds headed northeast and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.

The temperature in Metro Manila will be around 22°C to 31°C; Baguio City at 12°C to 22°C; Tagaytay City at 20°C to 28°C; Legazpi City at 24°C to 29°C; Metro Cebu at 24°C to 29°C; Cagayan de Oro City at 23°C to 27°C; and Metro Davao at 24°C to 30°C. (PNA) – bny
