DIPLAHAN, Zamboanga Sibugay — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has awarded this municipality the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) for upholding the standard of transparency, integrity, and service delivery.

“The LGU (local government unit) of Diplahan is so blessed since out of 16 municipalities of this province, Diplahan is the only passer of the Seal of Good Local Governance for 2018,” Mayor Lycel Castor-Tan said Friday.

Tan said she was very grateful for the all-out support and cooperation of all the department heads and other concerned officials and employees of the municipal government.

“I should say indeed there is team work. Because of such team work, we passed all required areas, such as the financial administration, social protection, peace and order, disaster preparedness, business friendliness and competitiveness, environmental management, and tourism culture and arts,” she said.

“This award has been really dreamed of by the municipality of Diplahan because I know, and they all know, that this award would really redound to the benefits of all the town’s beloved constituents,” she added.

Tan said being an SGLG awardee, this town is set to receive projects that would benefit the residents.

The mayor received the award from DILG Secretary Eduardo Año in a ceremony held in one of the hotels in Manila last week.
