Sinas: Commander in Datu Piang rampage, 10 others Surrender

PNP Chief Debold Sinas announced that 11 members of the BIFF breakaway group under Karialan Faction voluntarily surrendered to police and army authorities on Saturday.

In a report of the Acting Director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) PBGen Albert Ignatius D. Ferro to the PNP Chief, he disclosed that joint elements of CIDG RFU BAR, 6IB Philippine Army, MIG12, ISAFP, 901B, 6MIB, 12ISU, RIU15, RID PRO BAR, and ISAFP successfully led the voluntary surrender of Datu Nino Ebrahim, BIFF Commander; Mohidin Kusain Mantang a.k.a “BAPA”; Mehad M Guiamandal a.k.a “Miguel”; Jiad S Ebrahim; Jiamil S Ebrahim a.k.a “MIKKY”; Gapor Damada a.k.a “GAPLOY”; Indal M Damada a.k.a “QUINDAL”; Hamui E Amil a.k.a “OLONG”; Kalim Zucamen a.k.a “QLEMS”; WarI D. Damada a.k.a “WAR”;and Ausain S Sansawna a.k.a “IMBA”, with their corresponding firearms, on February 6, 2021 at about 8:00 to 10:00 in the morning at Sitio., Landing, Brgy. Buayan, Datu Piang, Maguindanao, after months of evading arrest.

“Datu Ebrahim is one of the 134 respondents in the Datu Piang rampage in December 2020. Further, Ebrahim was listed in the Periodic Status Report (PSR) as field commander of the BIFF Karialan Faction during the 2nd Quarter of 2020, JAPIC R KAMPILAN PSR and later transferred to the 118th BC, BIAF, MILF under Wahid Tundok.”, Sinas said.

Criminal charges for violations of RA 11479 (Anti Terrorism Act of 2020), Multiple Frustrated Murder and Destructive Arson are being prepared against the said rebels.
