Sister of slain Iloilo drug lord shot dead

ILOILO CITY — A village chief in this city has been ambushed Sunday.

Remia Gregori, village chief of Bakhaw, Mandurriao, Iloilo City was shot dead around 4 p.m. at a beach resort in the town of San Joaquin, Iloilo.

This was confirmed by Senior Insp. Asencion Ortizo, chief of the San Joaquin Municipal Police Office in a radio interview.

Initial reports show that Gregori was shot several times. Investigation into the incident is still ongoing as of posting time.

Gregori is the sister of alleged drug lord Richard Prevendido who was also shot dead in 2017.

Though she has been repeatedly linked to the illegal drug trade, Gregori has been re-elected as village chief during the recent May 14 local polls. (Cindy Ferrer/PNA)
