After suffering from a hamstring injury, Greg Slaughter rejoined the Barangay Ginebra in its practice after they dealt San Miguel’s first loss last Sunday.

Already set for the ‘Gregzilla’s’ return on Saturday against flumping NLEx Road Warriors, Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone is still confident that they can still make some noise in the ongoing PBA Philippine Cup after suffering three game losing streak before the SMB game.

“Greg is back in practice and he will have a week’s conditioning before he plays on Saturday, barring again, no setbacks”, said Cone.

With Slaughter back in the sidelines due to his injuiry, another bigman stepped up — showing his effectiveness even he’s one of the newcomers in the team.

Raymond Aguilar showcased an impressive outing, offensively and defensively, against the powerhouse Beermen — tallying 16 points, nine rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes of playing time.

“He was just phenomenal. He guarded Junmar (Fajardo) all game long. He hit big shots and make big plays on his own. He was amazing.” said Cone.

After dealing San Miguel’s first loss of the conference, Cone is still hoping that the said win will be the start of them joining in the continuous winning trail.

“The good thing now is that we are developing trust in guys we’re not used to trust. Hopefully we start grabbing some momentum from this game (against San Miguel) so we can move forward. Greg is coming back and Joe in the horizon. We can make some noise this conference,” said Cone. (Tretch Melarpes – PTV)
