Some regions to postpone Bayanihan Bakunahan due to typhoon Odette

Some regions in the country’s participation in the nationwide second round of Bayanihan Bakunahan will be postponed due to the coming typhoon Odette.

According to the Presidential Adviser for COVID-19 Response Sec. Vince Dizon, Region 5, 4B, and the whole of Visayas and Mindanao will have their Bayanihan Bakunahan days postponed due to the typhoon.

“Ang Region 1, CAR, Region 2, Region 3, NCR, at Region 4A ay matutuloy ang Bayanihan Bakunahan bukas hanggang Biyernes. Ang Region 4B, Region 5, at buong Visayas at  buong Mindanao ay matutuloy sa darating na Lunes, Dec. 20, hanggang Dec. 22,” Dizon said.

The following regions will hold their Bayanihan Bakunahan on Dec. 20 to 22:

  • Region V
  • Region IV-B
  • Region VI
  • Region VII
  • Region VIII
  • Region IX
  • Region X
  • Region XI
  • Region XII
  • Caraga
  • BARMM

Meanwhile, the following regions will push through with the second round of Bayanihan Bakunahan as schedule on Dec. 15 to 17:

  • Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR)
  • National Capital Region (NCR)
  • Region I
  • Region II
  • Region III
  • Region IV-A

“Ang priority natin sa buong buwan ng December ay maabot natin iyong target na 54 million na fully-vaccinated Filipinos. Dito sa Bakunahan Days, ang target natin ay seven million. Marami po dito ay second doses,” Dizon said.

In addition, the government will focus on the vaccination in provinces and LGUs that are below 50% in terms of fully-vaccinated individuals.

“More than enough ang ating bakuna. Ito po ay na-deploy na sa lahat ng ating lugar. Hinihikayat nalang po natin ang ating mga kababayan.” -rir
