Son of slain drug suspect yields P350K shabu

CEBU CITY — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) arrested an 18-year-old drug suspect who yielded PHP350,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” in a buy-bust operation  in Barangay Pahina Central here Tuesday afternoon.

PDEA-7 agents caught the young suspect around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in possession of three packs of “shabu” weighing about 70 grams.

A 15-year-old girl was also apprehended in the same operation.

The 18-year-old suspect is a son of a suspected drug personality who was killed by two gunmen in neighboring Barangay San Nicolas about two weeks ago.

The teenagers will be charged for violation of Sections 5 and 26 of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

They are now detained at the PDEA-7 detention facility pending the filing of cases against them in court. (Luel Galarpe/PNA)
