Southwest monsoon to bring rain in W. Visayas, Luzon

MANILA—Some parts of the country will continue to experience scattered rain showers on Monday as the southwest monsoon affects western Visayas and the western section of Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In its 4 a.m. advisory, the state weather bureau said severe tropical storm Prapiroon (formerly Florita) is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility and last observed at 825 kilometers northeast of northern Luzon.

The provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Palawan, Mindoro, Romblon and western Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the southwest monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Temperature in Metro Manila is from 25-32 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 24-34 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 16-23 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 25-32 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 25-34 degrees Celsius. (Lily Ramos/PNA)
