Southwest monsoon to bring rains over Metro Manila, parts of Luzon

MANILA — The southwest monsoon affecting the western section of Luzon will bring rains over Metro Manila and other parts of the island on Sunday, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

In its bulletin issued 4.a.m. Sunday, PAGASA said Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Palawan and Mindoro will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to “localized thunderstorms”.

Moderate to strong winds will blow over the western section southern Luzon. Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
