Specific vaccine brand requirement ng KSA, hindi para sa OFWs

Nilinaw ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) na hindi para sa overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) ang patakaran ng Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) hinggil sa partikular na tatak ng bakuna kontra COVID-19.

Iginiit ni DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III sa isang virtual media briefing ng DOLE nitong Miyerkules (Mayo 26) na hindi kailangang mangamba ng mga OFW na baka hindi sila papasukin ng bansa kaugnay ng bakuna itinurok sa kanila.

Nasa ilalim ng patakaran na dapat may pahintulot ng Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) ang bakuna, katulad ng Pfizer-BioNTech, Oxford-AstraZeneca, Moderna, at Janssen.

Paglilinaw ng DOLE, ang patakarang ito ay nakatuon sa mga papasok na foreign travellers o mga turista.

“’Yung patakaran na ‘yun [na] bagong policy ng Saudi ay… hindi kasama ‘yung ating mga OFWs,” saad ni Bello.

Gayunpaman, sabi ng Department of Health (DOH) na kailangang magkaroon pa rin ng pag-uusap sa pagitan ng mga bansa tungkol dito.

“We will continue to have talks with the government… We will come up with a win-win solution,” ani DOH Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje.

Kinumpirma rin ng DOLe na aprubado na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang ₱5.2 bilyon na karagdagang pondo para sa repatriation at quarantine ng mga OFW. – Ulat ni Louisa Erispe / CF-jlo
