MANILA — It’s gonna be speed versus brute in this year’s Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) All-Star Game at the Calasiao Sports Complex in Pangasinan on March 31.

Four agile players will headline the North All-Star starters, while the twin tower combination of June Mar Fajardo and Greg Slaughter will banner the South All-Stars’ first five.

Ginebra’s LA Tenorio, Magnolia’s Paul Lee, Phoenix’s Calvin Abueva, and San Miguel’s Marcio Lassiter made the cut for the North as announced on Tuesday.

Tenorio’s fellow Gin King Japeth Aguilar, who is quick in his own rights as well, complete the North starters.

On the other hand, Fajardo and Slaughter are expected to once again dominate the paint together for the South All-Stars.

Rain Or Shine’s James Yap, Magnolia’s Mark Barroca, and Ginebra’s Scottie Thompson complete the South starters.

The announcement was made after the closing of the balloting period among fans.

The rest of the All-Star lineups will be named at a later date.

Following two straight seasons of having Gilas Pilipinas take on a selection from each of the Philippines’ three major regions, the PBA decided to revert to the North versus South format.
