State workers to get CNA bonus starting Dec. 15

MANILA — Qualified government employees may expect to receive their annual Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) bonuses starting December 15.
In a press briefing Wednesday, Budget and Management Secretary Benjamin Diokno, said the amount of the incentive depends on the offices’ savings and should not exceed PHP25,000.
He explained that this cash incentive will be given to state workers who are members of the 1,207 accredited unions nationwide that have an approved and successfully-implemented CNA.

“This is a recognition of the workers’ effort in professing performance standards at lesser cost and in attaining more efficient and viable operations to cost-cutting measures and systems improvements,” Diokno said.

“Rate of CNA incentives shall not be pre-determined and depends on the amount of money saved as a result of the cost-cutting measures,” he added.

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM), in a news release, said the CNA bonus will be given to qualified regular, contractual and casual civilian personnel of national government agencies as well as local government units (LGUs), state universities and colleges (SCUs), government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) and local water districts who are working either full-time or part-time.

Last Nov. 15, government employees started receiving their year-end bonus which is equivalent to a one-month basic salary and a cash gift of PHP5,000.

Starting Dec. 15, state workers will also get a Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI), which amounts to PHP5,000
