Strict stay-at-home measures worth it for 84% of Pinoys

A new Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey revealed that 84% of Filipinos believe the implementation of “strict stay-at-home” measures amid the COVID-19 pandemic is “worth it” for the protection of people and to limit the spread of the virus.

Based on the results, the percentages of those who claim it is worth it are “slightly higher” in Metro Manila at 84 percent. Balance Luzon or areas outside Metro Manila and the Visayas both scored 84 percent while Mindanao is had 81 percent.

It added that the results are “equally high” for areas placed under ECQ and GCQ which have ratings of 84 and 83 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, 15 percent consider the strict stay-at-home measures as “placing too many burdens on people.”

The SWS said the Social Weather Stations Covid-19 Survey was conducted from May 4 to 10 through mobile phone and computer-assisted telephone interviews with 4,010 working-age Filipinos. – Report from PTV News
