Student-athlete dies while playing football

A student-athlete died while playing football, Colegio San Agustin (CSA)-Makati confirmed.

In a statement, CSA-Makati said the student-athlete died on Sunday, March 26.

The school said the student-athlete was participating in a football varsity game outside the school when he collapsed.

According to CSA-Makati, he was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital, but could no longer be revived.

“The cause of death is still unclear at this moment as we were informed that the hospital needs to conduct further examinations,” its statement read.

“The school is closely coordinating with the family and the hospital personnel for more details, and for any assistance which the school may provide,” it further read. -ag
