Supreme Court (SC) Associate Justice Estela Perlas-Bernabe on Wednesday, October 16, paid a courtesy call on Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso to ask for the local government’s full support in the upcoming 2019 Bar Exams.

Justice Bernabe, the 2019 bar exam chairperson, relayed the High Court’s request for logistical and security support to the Mayor during a meeting at the Manila City Hall.

In their request, the SC asked the Manila City government for intensified security presence inside the University of Santo Tomas (UST) on all bar exam dates in November.

Likewise, the SC requested for deployment of additional ambulances and rescue personnel from the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).

The High Court also asked the local government to strictly implement a liquor ban on all business establishments within the vicinity of UST during the bar exams.

On the other hand, Justice Bernabe personally invited the Manila City Mayor to join the send-off of bar examinees at 7:00 am on November 3, the first day of the examinations.

The Mayor told the SC magistrate that all their requests would be granted and that he would join the send-off.
