Taguig City opens 4th and 5th Vaccination Sites

Taguig City continues to strengthen its vaccination program as it opens its 4th and 5th vaccination sites in Maharlika Elementary School in Barangay Maharlika and EM’s Signal Village Elementary School in Barangay Central Signal on April 7, Wednesday.

These additional community vaccination centers complement the two existing Mega Vaccination Hubs at the Lakeshore area in Barangay Lower Bicutan, and Vista Mall Parking Building in Barangay Calzada, and the first community vaccination center in RP Cruz Elementary School in Barangay New Lower Bicutan.

The city started vaccinating on March 31 those who belong in COVID-19 Vaccine Priority List categories A2 (senior citizens) and A3 (non-senior adults with comorbidities). It has also started giving the 2nd dose to those belonging to the A1 category (medical frontliners).

Taguig will continue to inoculate Taguigeños until supplies from the national government last.

Taguig expects its orders of COVID-19 vaccines from AstraZeneca, Covovax, Covaxin, and Moderna to arrive by the third quarter of the year. It will open more vaccination hubs to get all these vaccines to the arms of its residents.

“Vaccination is one of the main components to contain the virus and move forward to the new normal. Despite the case surges and being under the ECQ guideline, Taguig is pushing all its efforts to strengthen our science-based and expert-approved initiatives,” Mayor Lino Cayetano said.

All Taguig residents are encouraged to register in TRACE Taguig for their vaccination schedule. (PR)
