Tail-end of cold front to bring rains to Bicol, Quezon

MANILA — The tail-end of a cold front would bring rains to the Bicol region and the province of Quezon until Friday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Thursday.

PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms would prevail over the Bicol region and the province of Quezon due to the tail-end of the cold front. It cautioned of possible flooding or landslides due to light to moderate with occasional heavy rains in these areas.

The regions of Cordillera and Cagayan, along with the provinces of Ilocos and Aurora, will experience cloudy skies with scattered light rains caused by the northeast monsoon, which are cold-winds blowing from Siberia, Russia.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers, on the other hand, will occur in Metro Manila and the other parts of the country due to local thunderstorms.

Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Central and Southern Luzon and the Visayas will also have rough to very rough coastal waters pushed by strong to gale force winds.

Moderate to rough coastal waters will also prevail over the rest of Luzon and Visayas, including the eastern section of Mindanao, caused by moderate to rough winds.

The other parts of Mindanao will have slight to moderate coastal waters pushed by light to moderate winds. (Juzel Danganan/PNA)
