Tail-end of frontal system brings scattered rains over S. Luzon

By Ma. Teresa Montemayor / Philippine News Agency

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday (Nov. 21) said cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will prevail over the eastern section of Southern Luzon due to shear line, also known as the tail-end of the frontal system.

In its weather bulletin, the agency said the shear line will affect the Calabarzon region and the provinces of Aurora, Isabela, and Cagayan.

It also reported that the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley and of Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the amihan or northeast monsoon.

Residents in concerned areas are warned against possible flash floods or landslides during heavy rains.

Meantime, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong moving northeast winds will blow over Northern and Central Luzon with moderate to rough coastal waters. Winds in the rest of the country will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.

The minimum temperature is 24.3 °C and maximum temperature is 32.1 °C. (PNA) – jlo
