Task force to probe killing of Nueva Ecija gov’s aide

CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – The chief of police in this province on Monday ordered a full-dress investigation on the killing of Governor Czarina Umali’s secretary and wounding of her husband in Barangay Marcos, Talavera Sunday night.

“We have created SITG (special investigation task force) Hernandez for the immediate resolution of the case and we will look into the whoever is responsible and put them behind the bars of justice,” Senior Supt. Eliseo Tanding said.

This, as Governor Umali condemned the killing and condoled with the family of Mary Anne Hernandez.

“Mariin naming kinokondena ang ganitong karahasan. Walang katumbas na salita ang maaring maglarawan sa karumal dumal na karahasang ito (We are strongly condemning such kind of violence. There are no words to describe this gruesome violence),” she said in a statement.

Umali described Hernandez as a bridge towards accomplishing almost all of provincial capitol’s projects.

She added that her late aide attended to the needs of her constituents and worked on the assistance to be extended to them by the provincial government. (PNA)
