Tatalon fire displaces 200 families

Over 1,000 individuals or 200 families lost their homes in the fire that hit Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City on Saturday, Feb. 18.

It is estimated that more than 200 families had their houses burned in Manunggal and Kabignayan Streets.

The families are temporarily sheltered at the Diosdado Macapagal Elementary School.

According to the Bureau of Fire Protection, the fire started at around 9 p.m. Saturday, escalated to the second alarm at 9:38 p.m., and reached the third alarm by 10:10 p.m.

Firefighters were able to control the blaze at 11:20 p.m. and extinguish it at 12:41 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19.

One person was reported there. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
