TD Rosal maintains strength, Signal No. 1 up in northern Catanduanes

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 has been hoisted over the northern portion of Catanduanes as Tropical Depression Rosal maintains strength as it heads north northwestward.

TCWS Signal No. 1 is hoisted over these areas based on the 5:00 p.m. bulletin of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA):

  • Northern portion of Catanduanes (Pandan, Gigmoto, Bagamanoc, Panganiban, Viga, Caramoran)

PAGASA said Bicol Region and Quezon will experience moderate to heavy with at times intense rains, while Mimaropa ang Western Visayas will experience moderate to heavy rains this Saturday.

Visayas, Aurora, and the rest of Calabarzon will also have light to moderate with at times heavy rains.

Rosal may become a tropical storm within 24 hours as it intensifies while moving over the Philippine Sea, and may weaken on Monday as it interacts with the northeast monsoon. AG
