TD ‘Usman’ brings scattered rains over Visayas, Mindanao

MANILA — The trough of Tropical Depression “Usman” would bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in several areas in Visayas and Mindanao on Wednesday, the weather bureau said.

In its 3 a.m. weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the center of “Usman” was last observed at 795 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur with sustained winds of 45 kms. per hour and gusts of 60 kph.

It is moving west northwest at 20 kph.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected over Eastern Visayas, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon affecting northern Luzon would bring cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands, as well as partly cloudy to cloudy conditions and isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region.

The rest of the country would be cloudy with isolated rain showers.
