Team GenTri files CoCs before deadline

GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite — Mayor Antonio Ferrer, who is running for his third and last term as the city’s chief executive under the National Unity Party (NUP) in next year’s mid-term elections, filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) Wednesday at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office here.

Ferrer was accompanied by wife Anne, sons, daughter, his mother Teresita and younger brother, incumbent Cavite 6th District reelectionist Rep. Luis Ferrer IV, when he filed his COC before City election officer Armando Vencilao at about 9:30 a.m.

Mayor Ferrer was later joined by his Team GenTri running mate and reelectionist Vice Mayor Morit Sison and incumbent Councilors Jonas Glynn Labuguen, Gary Grepo, Jowie Carampot, Tey Martinez, Nanding Granados, Florencio Ayos, Vivencio ‘Pafoo’ Lozares and lawyer Kristine Barison, who are all seeking for their next term of office.

Completing the GenTri Team were aspirant councilors led by Liga ng mga Barangay president Jay Columna as well as Richard Parin, Gani Culanding and Claire Campaña.

Prior to the filing of their respective COCs, the team attended the 7:30 a.m. holy mass at the historic church of St. Francis of Assisi.

“Maraming, maraming salamat po sa walang sawang suporta nyo sa Team GenTri (Thank you for your untiring support to Team GenTri),” Ferrer said in his speech after the mass.

He assured constituents their team will sustain the good services and local governance of the city.

Rep. Jon Jon Ferrer also introduced the GenTri line up and said their party formed a stronger, solid and unified team.

He also told city folk here that their public service is encapsulated in the church song,

“Walang sino man ang nabubuhay, para sa sarili lamang (No one lives for himself/herself alone,” he added. (Dennis Abrina/PNA)
