Team Lakay’s Olsim registers second win at ONE Battleground III

by Brian Yalung

Jenelyn Olsim of Team Lakay won via unanimous decision over Vietnamese-American Bi Nguyen in their scheduled Atomweight clash at ONE Battleground III in a tape-delayed event aired on Aug. 27, Friday, held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The 24-year-old Olsim set the tone in the first two rounds, showing her superior grappling and near-submissions against “Killer Bee.”

Nguyen launched a spirited rally in the third but the effort was not enough. All judges had it in favor of the Filipina fighter. It was Olsim’s second-straight victory.

Olsim debuted in March at ONE: Fists of Fury III and won via power guillotine in the third round against Brazilian opponent Maira Mazar. -rir
