The Duterte Legacy: An administration of compassion and patriotism

As the Duterte administration enters its last year, several officials reveal the administration’s main legacy – one of compassion and patriotism.

According to Eastern Samar Governor Ben Evardone, the Duterte administration has inspired not only other government officials but also the general public.

But beyond that, the number one legacy that the Duterte administration will be remembered is that he inspired and he will continue to inspire the people in government and outside of government,” he added.

Meanwhile, Legazpi City Mayor Noel Rosal believes that the President has the heart of a true Filipino, one who readily responds to the needs of the people.

We have a president who has the heart of a Filipino,” Rosal said.

As for Leyte Governor Mic Petilla, the biggest legacy that the Duterte administration will leave behind is inspiring people to be more patriotic and loyal.

“Ang legacy nasa tao. That’s the best legacy you can have. The biggest legacy ay hindi sa monumento, hindi sa kalsada, hindi sa roads and buildings and bridges. Ang legacy mo ay iyong nasa tao,” Petilla said.

“Kapag nakita mo ang tao na very happy, very helpful, nagmamahalan. That is the most important legacy na miiwan ng isang leader na katulad ni President Duterte,” he added. –PG – bny
