The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said Monday, Jan. 30, they intercepted over the weekend a ship and three boats after they were caught stealing diesel from the Navotas Fish Port.

While on patrol on Saturday, Jan. 28, the PCG team observed five crew members of M/V MIROLA 1 transferring diesel to three boats, Palawan Pirates 2022, Palawan Pirates 2023, and Palawan Patrick.

According to PCG, about 20,000 to 30,000 liters of diesel had been transferred to the three boats when they were caught by the authorities.

Upon further investigation, the PCG also found out that the three boats were previously involved in fuel pilferage in Manila, Bataan, and Batangas.

They also had no proper documents.

The involved vessels and their crews were brought to the Coast Guard Sub-Station Navotas for the filing of appropriate charges.
