MANILA — Tropical depression “Tomas” (Man-yi) has weakened into a low pressure area (LPA) and is not expected to make landfall.

In its 5 a.m. weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was last spotted 1,060 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.
Meanwile, the weather bureau said the northeast monsoon (amihan) is affecting Northern and Central Luzon.

Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley regions and Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains caused by the northeast monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Extreme northern Luzon expects strong gale force winds from the northeast to east with rough to very rough coastal waters.

PAGASA said sea travel over the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon is risky due to rough to very rough seas associated with the ongoing surge of the northeast monsoon.

Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 23-32 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 21-31 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 13-24 degrees Celsius; Angeles City 23-32 degrees Celsius; Lipa City 23-31 degrees; Metro Cebu 25-31 degrees Celsius and Metro Davao 25-33 degrees Celsius.
