Top performing local government units (LGUs) around the country has been recognized by the National Task Force Against COVID-19 (NTF) for their outstanding contribution on the recently concluded first round of the government’s three-day National Vaccination Drive in Mandaluyong City on Thursday, Dec. 9
The Bayanihan Bakunahan Culmination Activity was attended by NTF chief implementer Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr., acting Presidential Spokesperson and Cabinet Sec. Karlo Nograles, testing czar Sec. Vince Dizon, Health Sec. Francisco Duque III, MMDA Chairperson Benhur Abalos, SM Supermalls President Steven Tan and several government personnel.
The local government units (LGUs) that got the highest jab improvement rates before the national vaccination drive (NVD) received P25,000-worth of gift cheques from SM Supermalls.
The following LGUs have showcased the highest improvement in their average jab rate between their pre-NVD accomplishments to their output during the NVD:
BEST CITY – General Santos City with 673 jabs
BEST PROVINCE – Tawi-Tawi with 2,668 jabs
BEST REGION – (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) with 785 jabs
These following LGUs administered the highest number of jabs for the 3-days of the NVD combined:
BEST MUNICIPALITY 3 – Arayat, Pampanga with 20,955 jabs
BEST MUNICIPALITY 2 – Tanza, Cavite with 25,277 jabs
BEST MUNICIPALITY 1 – Rodriguez, Rizal with 39,383 jabs
BEST CITY – Cebu City with 103,828 jabs
BEST PROVINCE – Laguna with 271,989 jabs
Region IV-A (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) got a special recognition for being the region with the highest number of jabs with 1,147,392 total jabs.
The National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) Team received a special citation for their continuous efforts and hard work in rolling-out the national vaccination program of the country.
NTF Chief Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. lauded the first round of the national vaccination drive as the highest 5-day average rate of administered vaccines since the start of the vaccination in March with more than 10 million doses of vaccines administered.
“Sa pagtatapos ng taong ito tiwala kami na kaya nating maabot ang milestone natin na 54 million o higit pa ang fully vaccinated individuals ang maitatala natin before the end of the year.” Sec. Galvez said.
As of Thursday, more than 40 million Filipinos nationwide have completed their jabs while more than 57 million Filipinos have received their first dose of vaccine.
According to Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, the government now targets to fully inoculate at least 99 million Filipinos or an equivalent of 90% of the total population before President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s term ends.
“This is really a feat…kakayanin naman pala natin.” Sec. Duque said.
