LEGAZPI CITY — A Camarines Sur town councilor was nabbed on Wednesday night by police anti-narcotics operatives who seized from his possession several plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a report said Thursday.

Arrested was Randy Texon, an incumbent town councilor, and resident of Barangay San Isidro Norte, Lagonoy town, said Chief Insp. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5) spokesperson.

The police operatives, armed with a search warrant, swooped down on the suspect’s residence at around 8 p.m. and recovered from him five medium-sized and 14 small heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu.

Christian Frivaldo, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) regional director, in a phone interview, said the agency considers Texon a high-value target drug personality and is in fact No. 1 in the town’s drug watch list.

He added that they started casing the suspect after receiving information that he was supplying illegal drugs to several drug pushers operating in the town.

The suspect was committed to the town’s police detention facility pending the filing of an inquest proceeding for possession of illegal drugs.
