A transport group bared on Monday, March 6, its proposed version of the modernized jeepney.

Association of Committed Transport Organization Nationwide Corporation (ACTONA) presented before the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory (LTFRB) its own version of the modernized jeepney units with the face of the traditional jeepney.

ACTONA said it only costs P1.3 million, over a million-peso cheaper compared to the P2.6-million cost of the current modernized jeepney that cooperatives can buy.

Various transport groups are holding a week-long strike to express their opposition to the impending public utility vehicle (PUV) modernization program of the government.

LTFRB, meanwhile, extended from June 30 to Dec. 31 the deadline of PUV modernization consolidation. With reports from Karen Villanda – cf
