Former Senator Antonio Trillanes conceded defeat on Wednesday, May 11, after falling to the 21st spot in the unofficial and partial election result.

Trillanes’ party, Magdalo Party, also accepted defeat after failing to secure a seat.

In a statement, Trillanes said although the result was not favorable to him, he said he feels that democracy is still very much alive.

“It may have been the most emotional campaign in our history, but it still turned out to be the most peaceful. Sa dakong huli, magkakaiba man ang ating paniniwala, lahat pa rin tayo ay mga Pilipino,” he continued.

Trillanes also thanked those who supported and trusted him and vowed to still continue to serve the public.

–gb
