Trillanes returns to PH, posts bail for sedition case

Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV went straight to Quezon City Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 138 after arriving in the country this morning and posted bail amounting to 10, 000 for a case of conspiracy to commit sedition.

The court issued a warrant of arrest for Trillanes last February 13 while on an international trip.

“Hindi po tayo natitinag nakita niyo .. galing ako sa ibang bansa. Bumalik ako rito para harapin ito dahil hindi nga tayo natatakot, ” he said.

Peter Joemel Advincula alias “Bikoy” and nine others accused were also issued a warrant.
Trillanes said this is the 19th case he is facing, and added that he will fight directly since the situation is now new for him.

“Hindi ko to hinahanap, hindi ko to parang .. it’s not a positive thing for me but ito na yung landas na pinili naming eh na gampanan,” he said.

The case started when a series of videos “Ang totoong narcolist” went viral.

If convicted, the accused will face imprisonment for two to four years.

Advincula posted bail yesterday, and had previously revoked his statements abut President Duterte and other personalities involved in the video.

He then accused the opposition, including Trillanes, of the alleged intent of the videos to smear the reputation of the President.

Meanwhile, Malacañang said it won’t meddle with the issue.
