Trough of LPA to bring rain showers over Luzon, Visayas

MANILA — The trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) will bring scattered rain showers over Visayas and most parts of Luzon, the weather bureau said Saturday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is monitoring an LPA, which was last eyed at 200 km. north northeast of Borongan City, eastern Samar.

Metro Manila, central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol, Mimaropa, and Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

The rest of the country, on the other hand, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, moderate to occasionally strong winds will blow over Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao. Coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (Ma. Cristina Arayata/PNA)
